Last Friday, speedway world shared a news about Andreas Jonsson who will miss this year Speedway European Championships finals. Swedish international was one of the first five riders who had guarantee start in the SEC finals.

Organizers were more than satisfied with the cooperation with former second speedway rider of the World. - Jonsson was with us from the beginning of SEC project. He supported us about events conception and he guaranteed his start in SEC without any doubts. The cooperation with Swede and his team is more than professional and we are truly regreat that life wrote that scenario. Many times speedway showed how cruel this discipline can be even for the greatest black sport heroes - Jan Konikiewicz from One Sport company said.

- Our invitation for Jonsson was still actual even after his injury in Copenhagen. After many conversations we decided together about his resignation from the SEC finals. Andreas ambition were to fight for a win in our tournament and only that interested him. Absence in the first round in Gdańsk for him means that he can't fight for the tittle. His injury is so serious that for now there is a possibility that he could not start in the Togliatti round aswell. So start from the round number three makes no sense for the rider. From the other hand we are absolutely sure that Andreas will take a part in the SEC 2014 finals as a wild card rider rules – Konikiewicz says.

This season is not so lucky for Swedish speedway. One of the matter are so many injuries and connected to them long recovery periods. - Swedish speedway have massive problems this year. Number of injured riders is very disappointing . Cooperation with SVEMO, Tony Olsson and Bose Wirebrand is more than a pleasure so we are very sorry that everything went like that during the season. Antonio Lindbaeck misses his chance in the SEC qualifications, Peter Karlsson had a badly crash just one day before Challenge in Zarnowica. After Jonsson's injury Swedish fans could have no sweedish rider in the competition. That is why we have made a decision with ECB to give a wild card for Fredrik Lindgren who wanted to start in qualifications but he haven't got a chance to do that beacuse this season Swedes had only two places in it. - Karol Lejman from One Sport says about givin' a wild card for Lindgren.

- I hope that will be a finish of false informations about different points money for four riders who had invitations from us just before the season. That is not true and it never will be like that. Everey SEC rider is treated exactly the same as rest of the boys in the tournament no matter from name he have. - Lejman denies the rumours. Maximum payment for clear maximum scoring in one round is 10 500 EUR. Prices are paid by the FIM-Europe so the situation is very clear about that. If someone thinks different, he is straightly mistaken - Karol Lejman explained.

In the end organizers mentioned about the upcoming first SEC round in Gdańsk  - We are sure that SEC inauguration in Gdańsk will be interesting for fans from all over the World. Completed line ups, new tournament start, „carte blanche” for every rider from the beginning, LIVE transmission to 54 countries in Eurosport – we have that all of that will be a sound of the fresh wind which World Speedway really needs these days. We want to invite every fan to Gdańsk for 27th of July. Tickets starts from just 20 PLN - Konikiewicz and Lejman added.
